I saw the film.
Loved it.
Didn't review it right away.
Not sure I need to now.

I was hoping to do a comparison with the book, but sadly, I haven't yet read the book. It's buried somewhere in my to read pile.

I have however, been reading The Joke's Over by Ralph Steadman. About his adventures with Hunter S. Thompson.

Yes this form of sentence structure is meant to make you think about the way Hunter S. Thompson spoke.

So the plot of this film is that Kemp is a new reporter landing himself in Puerto Rico in the 60s. He somehow by a string of odd luck, ends up right in the middle of a corrupted company. A land buyer worms his way into his life, getting him to run slanted news stories.

That's the plot. I await the dvd.

On the eve of the Rum

It's been over a year since I thought about this blog, tried moving on to other things, but with the eve of the Rum Diary upon us, I thought I might try to resurrect this thing.

Some reason, I seem to remember there having been a large photo of Johnny Depp as Hunter on the pimped out design, but seems that was missing when I logged on this morning.

I'll be playing around on here over the next while, trying to figure out the new look. Don't be scared unless you are prone to that.

You've heard me say that I read TNARevolution once an awhile for injury reports. I subscribe to it's email feed.

This is an open letter to them. Guys what you printed or I should say leaked this morning was just wrong. I don't know what you think is news worthy but that just was not needed. I have no idea who is on your staff or why they would go to such lengths printing that.

I want to know why other fan sites and spoiler sheets feel the need to toss shit around like that? Are you so afraid to loose readers if you just do a straight up column of reviews and injuries? Dude, come on NOT EVERYTHING needs to be put on the internet. That was just uncalled for.

It's been a full month and I haven't updated.
Well I've been busy. Anyway, here's the short end of the stick for anyone who cares.

Half of TNA has been released. Did you hear me?
Daniels and Creed are no longer there.
I am not happy about this. We are down to what ... 7 TNA guys now? (Styles, Sabin, Shelley, Lethal, Storm, Roode, Young) Something like that. They are dropping like flies and with this new 8pm time start, I say we might as well start grabbing shovels and calling the coffin makers.
Cause it's starting to look like the lyrics of a Five song (remember the boy band from Britain 12 years ago) "Baby when the lights go out" the only thing on my mind is .... maybe it's time to back ROH ?

On BlindTag.com ,I made a comment this past week in my post TNA to Monday that TNA Impact needed to be sure they were offering something more then chocolate milk to WWE Raw's plain milk. I, in fact demanded martinis. What they gave me was bong water.

I have some icky looking sludge in my refrigerator that is more interesting to watch then what you offered this past Monday in the live show.
Hold up there Raw, you didn't give me anything of note either.

Yes, I watched both shows this week. They seemed to be equal on the crap level.
Both shows started off with the seniors tour, both shows had one semi strong match in the early on that left a bad taste in my mouth, both shows ended on a low note.

The women's division which used to be something to brag about on TNA , has become nothing but cream pies with extra whip cream. I hate cream pies, and whip cream makes me vomit.
WWE's women's division has always been nothing but marshmallows. I hate marshmallows too, their not vegan friendly.

Neither show made any use of their tag team division. WWE for starters, really doesn't have a decent tag team division, they try but none of the teams they have created in the last few years have any grit.
TNA who's biggest strength is their tag teams, didn't play that hand this week. And no I do not count the handi cap match. That was a fluff piece and we all know it.

What is the point of a guest host on Raw if they do nothing? Axe it already.
TNA... I'm scratching my head on why the hell you made us suffer through not just one but two segments with Brooke Hogan and her really horrible acting. Axe it already.

It was good to see the X-Division get a push, bad to see Shannon Moore arrive out of nowhere and be handed a title match. That's bulls**t. No one cares about his character. Had he been there for the last 6 months week after week maybe, but to arrive with no proper history and not having earned it. Bulls**t!
That brings me to the arrival of Jeff Hardy. I have very publicly expressed my distaste for him, and stand strongly by that. I see nothing good with him being in TNA.

Back over on Raw. Sheamus was the highlight of the night for me. I would still rather see him in a feud with Orton, but putting him against Triple H is a smart move. It makes sense, as Triple H himself pointed out, every one who's feuded with him has risen to the top as a major player. I call him my white knight for a reason, and I think he's got the staying power to be the number one Heel with fan backing. I know that sounds odd to some of you, but think about the Heels you love to hate then get back to me. Putting that segment in the mid point of the show was a smart move, as most fans who were flipping channels would have stayed on Raw for that ten minutes before flipping back.

But, overall grades for both shows D+
Here's hoping next week someone pulls a rabbit out of a hat, cause right now, neither show is impressing me much, and if TNA doesn't get their head out of their ass, they are going to find themselves sleeping on the sofa more often. Dig.

Corey Haim Dead at 38

Haim, best known for his role in Lost Boys had recently started a come back with both a reality show with former co-star Corey Feldman and as a small comedic bit in the movie Crank 2 High Voltage

I am sitting here watching the replay of this week's Raw. Hot off the heels of a pay per view. The Elimination Chamber.
First off let me say I was bored as there was no Sheamus, but since he's off with an injury there was nothing that could be done.
Jumping then to the fact we have two Canadians with belts right now, Jericho and Maryse. I love that.
Dealing with the topic of the Undertaker. What's with the housecoat? He's starting to look like a bloated old woman, in fact this is what the women in my family start to look like once we hit menopause. Scary isn't it.
The Undertaker came out to tell HBK he would finally have a rematch with him, and told him he had to put something of value up, I was hoping it would be a hair match but it's just his career. Which has gotten as thin as his hair anyway and will not be much of a loss when Undertaker destroys him.

My main thought for this week is about Randy Orton.
I have no idea why they put him in a trio for the last year to begin with. Orton is one of the strongest elements the WWE has overall. Why is he being used so loosely? He is being wasted right now in the storyline with Rhodes/DiBiase. Maybe he was tired, or slightly injured and needed some time to relax? Maybe the writers have a horrible case of writer's block and need to take some laxatives to get their thoughts flowing again? All I know is that Randy Orton was not used as well as he could have been over the last while. I still hope to see a solid feud between Orton and Sheamus after the whole WrestleMaina thing blows over. That would make the summer for me as far as Raw goes.

Every body wants to be famous, it was promised to us all for at lest 15 minutes by Andy Warhol after all wasn't it. Some of us do it with sports, some reporters, some have become actors. Or in this case dinner theater.
The local media here is as uncomfortable reporting real news as the level of news there is in this city to report. I blame the locals.
I was asked to attend an event tonight, expected to sit in a mindless stupor in the media pit and report on a play. Those rat bastards will not get my attendance for anything. The fiends that they are, feasting off the bones and remains of decent ideas, I will not comply. They want the support of the underground media, not for a million dollars will I let them have my approval.
Tell me, do you not see an issue with a 60 year old man who still thinks he's going to break into showbiz by doing children's theater at the local church. There is something not right there when he keeps dating his 17 year old co stars. Not right at all.
I blame the locals.
Or a director who has her drug dealer on speed dial, all the while pimping her girlfriends as the next Marilyn Monroe. I still blame the locals.
No man, I will not give my support to this band of evil. And the worst offender of all, the towns own personal whore. A man so vile that he oozes sexual misconducts like a politician shakes hands. His smile is like a cloud of toxic fumes. No man.
I hate the locals.

The CBC would never make this mistake

I thought it was odd when I logged into my yahoo and saw in the most searched box "Terry Fox", as his famous run was 30 years ago.
But yet his name was at the top of the most googled for the week.
The reason it seems is not that his Mother was part of the Olympics this week, but because an American reporter at NBC screwed up.

Now, had it been just the reporter saying the name wrong, it might have been just a "flub" but the editing team actually put up a photo of the actor Michel J. Fox and not Terry Fox.
Shame on you.

You are suppose to be one of the top news networks on the planet and you make such a major screw up.

I can not understand how this kind of mistake could be made by an entire news crew.
As a Canadian I can see why it was, as the American media never bother to learn about us.

Not only do I live in a city that was part of the famous Marathon of Hope I also live in the city that was his last stop. We have a statue to memorialize his run.

I believe my white knight is about to have a Face turn. Could this be? Would this work? I dare say it might. I know I was the one few weeks ago saying I hoped he stayed Heel, but after what my buddy has told me that he's read in the spoiler sheets, a turn is about to happen. There is just something that tells me to keep my money on Sheamus. Maybe it's just me and my lustful desire for the boy and then again maybe it's the fact he's got talent. Or maybe both.

Either way a feud with Orton could bring out the best in him. And I look forward to that.

I would like to see Sheamus shave though. I would also love to see him take over the announce booth for one episode of the show. I love to listen to him talk.
Did I mention I am a total sucker for Irish guys?

This is in direct response to something I read this morning on TNA Revolution.com. One of their staff just wrote a blog post about change. Were they talking to me? I'm sure in a mass market dogeared recycled paper drugstore book sort of way they were. Even if they weren't, I'm answering anyway. They were yammering on about change and the fear of change. All my Spudguns will know, I screamed very loud at my distaste for the so called new direction that TNA has been going as of late. I do not fear the unknown. I might get the vibes of unrest, but what does it matter, no one has yet to weigh in on my .... vibes.
I have a distaste for what Hogan was part of back in the days of WCW. I just simply do not trust.
But I will tell you one thing, if when dancing with the devil on this, if you are going to have us down at the sock hop be-bopping to the oldies, play me a little something I might actually like. I would love to hear something in face paint in the key of Vampiro.
If you are going to bring back half the old gang from WCW bring in Vampiro. That's something I can get behind.

In the same round of posts from TNA Revolution.com, I was reading that two Knock Outs were asking to be let go. Kong and Flash. Maybe the women are getting the vibes?

Hunter S Thompson called his sports column in 2001 "Hey Rube", pointing out how fans of any sport are always duped. A few years later the column was made into a book. I was just reading an entry from April 23 2001.

I put the book down. Got up and with my right hand to by chin and lip went to the other room for my laptop.
I could hear a voice in my ear say simply "uh oh the bitch is thinking".

That never bodes well for you readers. My Spudgun.

I have been dedicating my writing to one sport, one company, two men. Where has it got me?
As of late, not much but skull splitting headaches and the fear. Total paranoia from the idea that no one is listening to me. You'll all suffer greatly in the end when you see I am right.

My team as a whole might feel like they are on top of the world now, but it can't last. It never does. I'm loosing faith in them myself.

My tag team, Sabin and Shelley (metaphorically as I have never met them) now seem like a distant dream that maybe never was. Just when it looked like there might be some lines of communication on a real level starting to open up after nearly 5 years of trying, suddenly the phones have gone dead. There truly is no communication in this car and the bats are swooping and diving down like heat seeking weapons.

I am not happy.

There is an episode of the British comedy Bottom where Ric is desperate to get laid and decides to sacrifice his soul to the devil in exchange for a string of women. He goes about making the rest of the guys Eddie, Spudgun and Dave part take in a crudely designed devil worshiping ceremony where they all eat poisoned food and pass out. When they come around again, there is waiting at the door who they believe is the devil, and Ric gets Eddie to drain his blood for them. In the end the devil is really Dave's daughter come to tell him it's time to go home. They were had. The episode shows just how easily people can be talked into what seems like a good idea when you are desperate.

I have been told I have a mouth on me that would make a sailor blush. Given that my dad was a sailor and my uncle was a truck driver I can't argue that. But they normally mean I am crude with the fact I never censor my thoughts. And I don't, this blog has been proof of that.

Unless Eric Young can pull it out of the ball park and find away to bet A. J. Styles in the near future, I see nothing happy for the soul of TNA. The so called "new direction" that they are taking with the company is nothing more then old dried up mud holes repainted to look shinny. But with sunglasses on it it just looks like a bottomless pit.

Blind Tag Column My Thoughts on Wrestling for the Week of Jan 4th 2010

This was the big show down. The return of Monday Night Wars.

It was the biggest let down in the business in months. Neither team showed any of their strengths.
Both companies blew goat backwards. I am just glad I did not make any bets on this or else I would have been very lost indeed.

The spoiler reporters are buzzing with the fact the replay of TNA Impact was edited.
And injury reports for TNA are a few more then I like. Hamada injured her leg, and Alex Shelley is said to have a back/neck injury.

It seemed to me when I finally did get to see the show, that Shelley's injury happened when Lethal pulled him off the cage. It looked as if he tried to hang on too long, and he was not moving much at all for the rest of it. Very unlike him.
I have no idea what this will mean for him or my tag team MotorCityMachine Guns! I hope the reports of his injury has been blown out of proportion and pray that he is alright.

They are setting up the "Front Line" for a new story it seems. Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin and Rhino were all knocked out but some unseen but very hinted at group. Will we see the return of the NWO? Christ I hope not. Worst gimmick WCW ever did.

The rumours of Jeff Hardy showing up were unfortunately true. Another waste of skin. He needs to go back to the limbo of nothingness he was in before Monday night.

Speaking of the other company, they pulled out what they figured would top TNA's list of oldies. The return of Bret Hart. That was a smart move, even I have to admit. Still was not enough to shake down the tree of woe that was a 2.2 million viewer rating for TNA.
WWE had one ace up their sleeve other then Bret Hart, and that was more matches less filler. For once .
Sheamus was still the highlight of the night. My white knight kicked ass in his match against Evan Bourne. Maybe he listened to what I had to say and decided he needs to be more a pure wrestler and less a hardcore one?

I was overly disgusted by TNA this week. My team really let me down hard. They used way too much filler and were very cheap on the matches. The Wolfe/Pope match could have been used better then just popcorn and the X-Division match was inefficient. Eric Young was nowhere to be seen. Even JB was used wrong.

The Wheel Might Turn but It's still Broken

I just watched the last couple of week's worth of RAW. The first of the two had Jericho trying to get fans to keep him on Raw.

The second of the two was the return of Bret Hart.

Let's tackle this in order shall we. Chris Jericho was begging the fans to get behind him so that he wouldn't be fired from Raw and was screaming with a homemade sign that he was a victim of conspiracy.

The MotorCityMachine Guns! already did the conspiracy signs last summer (July 30th 2009) on TNA and Eric Young did the "Don't Fire Eric" campaign back in 2007.

And the second, you had to pull out the biggest thing you could think of to battle TNA Impact. You still came up short. TNA still clung on to their ratings while your show was on the other channel.

And one more thing. On WWE on the Jan 4th 2010 episode of Raw,McManhon's little speech about how Bret earned his chances was word for word what Alex Shelley said on the Dec 17th 2009 episode of TNA Impact in his promo. What you thought that would get past me?

I don't like spoilers.
I stay away from them at all costs, with the rare injury report being the only thing I pay attention to.
And since I have not seen the show from Monday night, I have to wait for the replay to air before iTunes Canada gets a copy or for Spike TV official website to post the show for that matter, seeing that in the headlines this morning got my hackles up.

It made it's highest ratings ever in the 4 and a half years its been on air since the night it debuted back in Oct 2005.

There is a maggoty fish on my team an its stinking up the whole building.
Why does heading into tonight's big event have my stomach turning with dread?
Let me count the ways ref.

*Hogan. I have never been a fan and I can promise I never will nor have I ever been quiet on that fact. I think he's a massive waste of space and was simply a bad gimmick. He's going to ruin things for my team and we all feel it.

*The players from the other team that keep popping up in the news saying they are going to be there like Jeff Hardy. Someone else I truly do not like. Never saw anything special at all with that one, and if the rumours are true that Hogan wants him in the company then we need to pray the higher ups are not just on lithium in a daze of confusion.

*The rumours that the design of the ring is being thrown out. Mistake, Mistake Mistake, Mistake, Mistake, Mistake. The six sided ring is part of the foundations of TNA.

I can't shake the feeling that there is something really horrible about to happen. It's that old idea change things from the inside out. Send in a double agent to collect and destroy. That's what I feel Hogan is.

Blind Tag Column My Thoughts on Wrestling for the Week part 2

We are only a few days away from the new Monday Night Wars.
How do I feel about this? Well, my team (TNA) did a very bold move by making fans wait having skipped any airing of Impact last week and giving the fans a 4 hour New Year's Eve show that promoted the Knock Outs.

Normally I do not watch the women's division, but this time I had no other choice. And I must say, with Hamada and ODB as headliners, it was a smart move.

At one point they were in a match and the announcers gave a listing of both Knock Out's pro wrestling history. Both were trained by legends, both have held titles, and both can pull off hard core moves. Add in the fact both Hamada and ODB are the same height and weight and it was a very evenly made match.

It's always good to see female wrestlers who know how to wrestle. ODB even went so far as to make the comment that the Knock Outs don't get by on their bodies.
I think someone forgot to inform the Beautiful People that. Mind you, both Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky have shown alot of improvement ring wise in the last two months. Maybe if they start dressing seriously the fans will start to take them seriously.

So heading into next Monday night, Jan 4th 2010, I have to give credit now to the Knock Outs, as they are actually starting to impress me with their strength.

Blind Tag Column My Thoughts on Wrestling for the Week

You all know I have my weekly column "My Thoughts on TNA Impact " running now on my main blog and on my wrestling blog.
And you all know that I have started to give some thoughts on the other company on here since working with WWEGIRL.
Well, with all the rapid changes happening in the business, it's making the news more then ever.
So in the tradition of Hunter S Thompson, I thought I would start a new piece once a week. I don't know how far it will go, or if it will get the point across the way I am hoping. But man I have to give it a go.

There are alot of rumours flying around the web that the new players behind the scenes in my team (TNA) are wanting to remove elements that make it what it is, and I say this is a huge mistake.

One of the key elements that makes TNA wrestling so different is the design of the ring. It's six sided. The web is alive with rumours that this will be changed to a normal four sided ring.
Big big big MISTAKE. In my books. TNA has built its fan based on two very strong things, it's X-Division, and its style. If my team suddenly decides to change it's look this far into the game, it would be like the Juggalos suddenly abandoning Corp Robinson for the jobber of the week.

I have been told by many that Dixie Carter actually listens to her fans when they speak. And if memory is correct, Dixie Carter herself used to run the official TNA Myspace few years back and I did chat with that person a few times. (I used to be glued to the official TNA Myspace back in 2006-2007) If this is a true fact then I am begging you to listen to me now, as a fan.

You can out shine the other company if you stick with what brought you to the dance. Don't change the recipe.

A change is in the air

I put my money where my mouth is this past weekend, stating that I thought Sheamus would win the belt in his match on the ppv. WWEGIRL did not believe me.
I was right once again.
Sheamus is now the wwe champ. He's moving through the paces faster then I was even expecting. Maybe a Face turn is about to happen?
I was thinking he'd take some time being the new Heel and let Orton turn Face, as Orton has been Heel for almost 5 years. But, after last night's RAW, I am starting to wonder if my white knight is about to turn Face.
And you rat bastards booed him. Shame on you all. He just saved you from another two years of back and forth between Cena and Orton, and let's face it, that feud has worn thin. It's been close to three years already, it was way over due for a new piece in this chess game.
I don't know if it will work with him as Face. I just can't see it happening. At lest not yet, way too soon for that.
What I would like to see, is Sheamus feud with Orton for the next few months. Take Cena out of the picture all together.
I would also like him to stay Heel. The white knight works best as a Heel.

It's a topic that covers all sports. The use of drugs to make the guys faster, stronger, bigger.
Hell, there was even a movie on it. And if you hop on over to the Fight Network youtube, it's one of the latest topics being talked about by the man formerly known as Johnny Devine.
I have to agree with him on what he says in the video.

I have a feeling the god of Gonzo would have had alot to say on the matter. I for one have always voted to make marijuana legal. And I don't even use it. I just see no reason for it to not be.

But in this case, it would cut down on the amounts of issues and deaths in sports.

I could go on about how much I like smaller shaped men, but that's another rant for another blog.

Terrible time for mindless gibberish

I hate this time of year. It does nothing for people but drain them of hope and peace. Everyone turns to werewolves as they stomp over each other at the stores and family gatherings.
Why bother?
This is a bad time for wrestling too. Storylines that have been playing out for the last four months have to be wrapped up so that the new ones can start fresh in the new year. And how to they handle this? By cramming in six extra hours of program between Dec 21 - 31st every year, usually with two of those hours straight up recaps from the full year.
Terrible gibberish really.
Why can't they just skip the crap and start fresh the first week of the new year. I don't see the point in the damned slammies. Weren't they just a damned gimmick one year twenty something years ago? When and why did they become a serious (laughable) thing?
But I guess even the marks need something to watch after the turkey and the heartburn from too much fake love.
It's a good thing I am both a vegetarian and estranged from my family.

I have been told my writing is over the top. That I am still making people uncomfortable in their seats. Well man, then let me turn up the volume on the radio. My poem, so far had gotten no response from my mystery fan. The guy who may or may not be my favourite man on the planet.

Maybe he's a coward? And if that is the case then he lacks true grit.

Which now brings me to my next topic in gonzo style, celebrities with insecurities. Oh yeah man. Let's cut to the brass, how much for the ape? I mean that. Are you listening to me? You rat bastards, swine, fiends, guppie fish.

Am I getting through to you? I talked about it before the fact someone at the center of my team is reading my blogs on a regular basis. I know this because things I have suggested over the past year have shown up on the show. I like that. There have also been a few subtle things my favourite has done that I have been nagging about over the past year. Have I hit a nerve. It would seem so.

Now, there is only two reasons I have been able to think of that would cause a man to do as a woman suggests, one is respect the other is a mad inhuman lust for her. So which one is it?

The thing is, I know nothing of the one reading me. They have the advantage, as they have been reading my blog for some time now and know me inside and out.

I get the impression it's my favourite, from the things he's said on air. Wow man, do I really hold him in the palm of my hand like that? If that is the case, he needs to stop with the shy boy act and step up to the ring apron. Let me know.

If he's too insecure to reply to the poem then all he needs to do is reply to me on air. I'll make it simple too.

All he has to say at some point on the show is that he's thinks the movie Hard Core Logo is really cool.

There, simple. So whomever it is on my team reading this, if you are on air talent that is, just mention the movie.

By now you have all heard the official announcement made by TNA's newest member, Hulk Hogan, that the Monday Night Wars are about to begin on Jan 4th 2010.
I did not believe it myself until I spotted Dixie Carter sitting a few feet from Hogan on the video. And sure enough it's on the official TNA Facebook.

My feelings on this are mixed. Can my team go head to head with the monster that is RAW?
Is Impact ready for such a bold move? I can only hope. Let's see how the odds stack up.

Weight : Not too sure on either shows roster number. No points for either team

Years Pro: Impact have been around for 7 but only on air for 4 and half
RAW has been on air for 14 plus

Strongest Players: Impact has without a doubt the best pure wrestlers with guys like A.J. Styles, Wolfe, Kurt Angle, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Jay Lethal.
RAW has their weak link here. Evan Bourne comes to mind but honestly that's about it.

Women's Division: Impact knows where to go for women who can wrestle. Outside of the US. Their top talent include Mexican and Japan trained women, and with the recent addition of the Women's Tag Team division we have them both being from Canada. They are not called the Knock Outs just for their looks.
RAW has Melina, Gail Kim and Maryse. Gail Kim being a former TNA member, as well as being Canadian. Maryse is also Canadian, so the training is there.

I just don't understand why the announce team keep saying that he's a "strange looking guy".
No he's not.
He looks good to me. Just because he chooses not to look like every carbon copy wrestler to come out of the wwe in the last decade does not make him strange looking. And when I say carbon copy I mean the overly tanned guys who look like burnt hot dogs. Yuck. It's very refreshing to see someone with the guts to have a more natural look. Very sexy indeed.

Julie Powell the now famous author of the blog turned book Julie and Julia is back with a second "memoir" called Cleaving A Story of Marriage Meat and Obsession, due out this week.
In this she talks about the decline of her marriage after the last book and movie were released.

I have to say right off, I loved the movie Julie and Julia. It's one of my favourite chick-flicks, and went out to buy the book which I read in 2 days. (I am currently reading My Life in France by Julia Childs which is the other half of the movie) So I am interested in what this second book is all about.

Man, I know talent when I see it, and that boy is talented. And hotter then hell in a bathtub.

I am also thinking that if this blog were a hotel room, I would be screwed. Both in the negative and the positive of the use of the word.
No, my tag team knows deep down in the sloshy parts of their tummies, in the very bowels of their parts that I am theirs. For better or worse.

My first typewriter was this clunky blue thing. I loved it. Wore my fingers to bleed with it. Had it nearly 15 years too, until my dad took it and sold it out from under me. Rat bastard

My first paycheck when I worked at the local library, I bought myself a word processor. Still have it. Been broken, dead and should be buried for nearly a decade now. I still have it sitting being all dusty. It doesn't do much other then make grinding noises now. I need to toss it.

My first computer was a second hand laptop that a buddy picked up for me in Toronto ten years ago. Grey, heavy chunky thing. An ex-boyfriend decided one night he wanted to type something. I have no idea what he did to it, but it wouldn't work after that.

I've had 3 more computers since, and I still miss my typewriter.
You knew where you stood with a simple typewriter. Paper went in the top, ribbon went in the middle and you hit the keys. No extra crap. No electronic either. Just you and the machine.

Even the sound of the keys on these things now doesn't hold the same magic. Computer keys are hollow, cold, lifeless. Much like the way my dad always was.

Now, I'm not a political follower, and being Canadian, I really have zero interest in the American government. BUT, I still found this book to be of interest. If for nothing other then the fact its pure editorial genius.
For anyone who does not follow politics, this made the strange vibing lives and lines easy to swallow and understand.

I think if more journalists took this approach to covering politics, more people would bother to pay attention.

Teams are suppose to work together. Or so the theory goes.
In this case, it self destructed.

I had a situation on another blog, where one member of our team refused to play by the rules. The fiend had to be shot.
We deleted him. He then freaked out. Demanding we delete his work. I did. But that took time, and in the amount of time it took to clean his closet, he had spammed us many many times.
I had to delete that too.
The really big down side to it is that I had to add a comment lock. Which sucks as now our usual readers who comment can't at the moment.

Readership will be down for a while. But the Head of the Household feels it should all blow over within a few weeks.
By god man, I hope it's sooner.

But when you are a professor of gonzo journalism such as myself, you are bound to break a few eggs and balls.

Most people will claim to be tight with someone in power.
I claim no such thing. I am simply a lowly grunt wallowing in the muck. Someone needs to order me some hip waders as the tide is rising and the moon is low.
I would love to say that I have members of my favourite wrestling company backing me, but that would be a bold face lie.
The fact is, I don't know if they know I exist. I think they do, I hope they do, for better or worse.
I was once told I should send Chris Sabin a picture of my boobs. I answered that I didn't think he would want one, that I was under the impression he would have no use for it. It's since become a running joke that we have been using whenever we need something for press. I think the joke has run it's course. But boobs equal ratings, apparently even mine.
Where do I go now? Who do I turn to when I have no body on my side.
I'm just a former reporter who can't give up the need to tell the story, and who has a deep lust for a man whom I have only ever watched on tv.

It was reported yesterday, that Jamie Noble has retired from the business. Can't say I blame him given the state of the game as of late.
Too many injuries because of too many bad matches.

Not just him thou, Edge has been out for months with what might be a career ender-life changer of an injury. The world is a demon waiting to suck our bones dry. And the fans want more blood don't they?
Hell man, they always do. More blood, more guts, more empty eye-socketed men with barbed wire bats and tables filled with glass. But why?
Why have the loyal fans become flesh eating monsters?

Because society is a rotten meat market that's why.
For the sake of a hookline, so many wrestlers over the years have faked injuries on tv only to come back a week later "fully recovered", that the brainwashed masses that still believe John Cena can wrestle expect their heroes to be superman. The pain tolerance of the masses have heightened and they want more.

Well, I say then let them get in the damned ring. Let the corndogs get off their asses and work an 8 day week under the conditions they demand of their heroes. Let's see how quickly they realize it's not just entertainment.
Let the fearful little bunnies hop to it, if a frogsplash is really so easy then let's see the damned lot of them try walking the top turnbuckle.
I guarantee they will be shivering in the corner like roadkill.

The state of the scripts

I have it on good authority that wrestling matches are not the big scripted plays we have come to believe they are all the time.
No man, the final outcome is known but the moment to moment is worked out as the match progresses. Or at lest my source whispered into my ear one late wintery night.
Righty-ho righty-ho.
And those of you who are most familiar with my writing know that wrestling is to me what football was to Hunter S. Thompson. Thou I doubt he would have done nothing but laugh at my desire to talk about it.
Those of you most familiar with my writing also know I am a TNA girl. That would of course be Total Non-Stop Action wrestling. They are indeed my team of choice, my personal drug if you will. Watching an X-Division match to me is what Ether would have been to HST.
A high never to be wasted and a great adrenaline rush.
But that now is the thing, the stuff that is scripted. It's lacking in something, something I haven't yet been able to pin point. But I know I will. And when I do, then those rat bastards will have to watch out. Cause once I get my meat-claws into something I keep at it like a wild beast tearing flesh.

These are my predictions for the coming year in the sport across the board.

1) Jimmy Jacobs will dominate leaving little doubt of his credibility.

2) Desmond Wolfe is more then the next best thing in TNA, he is the Heel of the coming decade. A fan favourite within the year.

3) Creed will advance to spend time with the X-Division belt, a time span of four months. (to hold it)

4) Dolph Ziggler will out shine even Randy Orton in the cocky Heel position.

5) Eric Young will carry himself to a Heavyweight championship. (if Hogan doesn't kill the company first)

There you fiends that is what I see happening. Come back in a years time and either praise me or prove me wrong.

So I got asked, why style yourself on this like the late great Hunter S. Thompson?
Well, because I had styled myself after Candace Bushnell on my other blog so I thought it was time for my stronger side to be represented.

But for those of you who want a more in depth comparison...

1) Hunter S. Thompson was a very talented writer and journalist who seemed to have his finger on the pulse before the pulse needed to be fingered. There was a strange sixth sense that he had on the topics he talked about. He was able to spot the reason and way of things before they hit the market.

A) I am a talented writer and journalist who has in the past spotted a good thing before it's blown up on the scene for the topic of my choice (you'll get see what my topics of choice are soon enough)

2) He was not afraid to live his life by his own rules.

B) I have been a semi-trendsetter here in this hell hole of a town for my entire life.

3) Hunter S. Thompson had a thing for guns.

C) I have a thing for two guns.

Back in February 2009 I did an article for DivineCaroline.com called Tele-phone-Eh? where I talked about how internet social sites were taking over the world.
I was not happy.

We as a society as a whole have become so mindless from being jacked in to the net that we've started to self fulfill our doomsday prophecies.

Like rabbits we've fallen down the whole. Dead eyed and fearful. Roadkill at it's grimly finest.
I blame it on the Americans. They have destroyed things for the rest of us. God save the Queen and the Prime Minister

In December of 2008 I did an article for the same site called Have We Gone Past Good Taste ? Where I talked about my disgust with the so called horror-fan sites and industry at the time.
I was not happy.

There is a Twilight Barbie set. Yes those rat bastards at the Twilight Saga stores decided it was of value to create a Edward and Bella Barbie set.

We were flying through the parking lot, hot under the radar of the local media goons.
My driving companion a mire idiot when it came to the fine subtleties of keeping a low profile. She just couldn't do it.
I couldn't care less. The fact is man, I didn't get into the business to be low key. Why look at all the rat bastards I've dated in this hell hole of a town over the years. All up and comers and all media goons.
Not one of them could make a decent cup of coffee, or martini for that matter. And when you are a Professor of Journalism such as I am, the drink is the whoot. It's the glue that holds your socks up.
And I was falling fast. But this meant nothing to my traveling companion that afternoon, for she was thinking one thing and one thing only, man. Serve the hardcovers to the store and don't look back. What she failed to understand was that the story was not in the books, it was infact in the car. Oh yes man.
I had been living the life for most of mine, cruising the top run of the ladder at a middle level. Patting the backs and shaking the hands of the scum that was at sea level and lower. That's right man, the Underground Media. The real media, the real fans. My traveling companion that day was not interested in the real story or interacting with the real fans. She was missing the element of true grit. She was interested in only the spotlight and bright lights.
And had jumped on the turnip truck bandwagoning it to sell for the highest profit. I had to fight the urge to slam a coconut in her head.

Always an uneasy turn of events. The day of the gallery opening and Me without my note pad. I had to play it cool, play it to the bone on this one. What I would have given for a tape-recorder just then.
No man, I had to fly it alone. Never mind that the sick bastards I was with didn't know a thing about art. Neither did I for that matter.
The lead artist was a friend of my sister's as I was to find out afterwards. Too bad too as he was cute. But male hotness aside, the show had to go on.
Students make for poor headlines but they seem to ooze the moment. And that by god was a moment.
Five of the university's very best graduates were about to be given a walk of fame for 15 seconds.
None were ever heard from again.
